On 13-16 October 2025, JA PreventNCD took part in the JACARDI General Assembly in Madrid – an event dedicated to strengthening collaboration among European Joint Actions in addressing key public health priorities.
JACARDI is a European Union initiative that supports Member States in reducing the burden of cardiovascular diseases and diabetes – both at the individual and systemic levels.
The meeting brought together participants from 21 European countries, including representatives of national authorities, EU institutions, WHO, EUPHA, patient organisations, and scientific societies.
The event served as a platform for dialogue and exchange of experiences. Discussions focused on the first results of JACARDI pilot projects and key topics such as equity, sustainability, monitoring systems, and continuity of care. The Assembly also enabled linking JACARDI’s experiences with the forthcoming EU Cardiovascular Health Plan, ensuring that technical work outcomes and national experiences can effectively contribute to shaping health policy in Europe.
JA PreventNCD and JACARDI are sister projects that coordinate their efforts to achieve stronger, synergistic goals – supporting non-communicable disease (NCD) prevention, the implementation of best health practices, and the promotion of cross-sectoral cooperation.
