Budapest 2025 - Meeting of the Executive Committee and External Advisory Board of JA PreventNCD

On March 5-6, 2025 the Executive Committee and External Advisory Board of the JA PreventNCD project held its first meeting this year at the National Center for Public Health and Pharmacy (NNGYK) in Budapest. The event was attended by Katarzyna Brukało, MD, PhD - Principal Project Manager on behalf of the Silesian Medical University in Katowice, Poland.

The meeting brought together the leaders of the work packages, health policy experts, and representatives of international institutions to discuss the project's progress, challenges encountered, and future directions in the prevention of non-communicable diseases. The agenda included strategy sessions, presentations by experts from WHO, OECD and the European Commission, as well as discussions on sustainable development, systemic solutions in public health, and effective prevention methods.

The second day was devoted to assessing the results to date, the methodology and plans for further activities - including communication, stakeholder cooperation and private sector involvement. The meeting ended with a joint summary and discussion of the next steps of the project.

As one of the largest Joint Actions of the EU4Health program, JA PreventNCD aims to make a real impact on health policy by fostering international cooperation, promoting high scientific quality and coherent, strategic action in the area of prevention. The Budapest meeting became not only a place to reflect on the achievements made so far, but also a starting point for planning further development and strengthening the impact of the project on a European scale.
