From 26 to 28 May 2026, the first in-person meeting of Work Package 6 (WP6) of the JA PreventNCD project will take place in Pula, Croatia. The Medical University of Silesia in Katowice serves as a co-leader of this Work Package and actively supports the development of actions promoting healthy living environments across Europe.
The meeting will begin with plenary sessions, during which the achievements of WP6 to date and directions for further collaboration will be discussed. The following two days will be dedicated to practical parallel sessions, where participants will present results and experiences from pilots conducted in various countries. The meeting will conclude with a joint plenary session summarizing progress and outlining next steps.
The main goal is to support the consortium in implementing the tasks of WP6, including:
- developing methodologies for preventive actions tailored to local conditions,
- implementing interventions in communities and urban environments,
- promoting breastfeeding through the “Baby-friendly community health services” model,
- strengthening the capacities of local teams.
The meeting will also facilitate the exchange of experiences between teams and prepare the consortium to develop the final outcomes of WP6. It will be attended by pilot activity leaders, external experts, the Youth Advisory Group, and representatives of Work Packages 1-4. The meeting will take place entirely in person to enable full interaction and relationship-building between countries.
The participation of the Medical University of Silesia as co-leader of WP6 provides an opportunity to showcase the team’s results and take part in international collaboration for healthy living environment – a key component in reducing chronic diseases across Europe.
